The Quick and the Damned
Smiling Sally thought it might be a good idea for me start a journal. The old gal was even kind enough to provide me with a book to act as this record. I’m sure these words will end up on some Yankee official desk some day but I won’t hold that against Sally. Yes the war is over. But I know better than to think a servant of the state could save up enough money to buy an establishment such as she runs in Angel Valley. Her saloon is definitely the house that union money built.
But that is fine by me. The war is over. I am not going to fight for or against the union. I am on this Earth for a greater purpose. Mr. Styx may think I am in his debt, but I assure any reader that is not the case. He can smile and think he is in control but at the end of the day I am serving my own greatness. His needs are simply the first path on my road to glory.
Lesser mortals might hightail it back east. Crossing paths with 1,000 year old witches and 2,000 year old vampires are not for an ordinary man. Well I assure anyone that reads this journal that I am anything but ordinary. These evil creatures of the dark are soon going to discover the power of Hoyle that runs through me. I have been chosen to bring them down.
Styx shall fall too mind you. He shall fall as all evil must before this is all done. But I do thank him for connecting with people of like talents. No evil can stand before this posse and not tremble at the destruction we shall mete out to them.
Let them sleep tonight. But their time is limited. I am the limiter.
